Last week I had the opportunity to play my “The Blues Are Back In Town” lyric video at the Gulf Breeze Rotary Club. The crowd loved it and the very prominent Mr. Jim Reeves approached me and asked if he could play it again for a a non profit organization – Pride Enterprises (an organization that helps ex-convicts transition back into society to be productive citizens). Also attending would be local officials and two state Senators, who are on the board for the non-profit.
He was taking the Pride folks and these local and state officials to the NAS Pensacola base for a tour and thought my anthem would “wow” them and set the tone for the big weekend, as this was the first time the group would see the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, as they are based out of Tallahasse. It went over so well, Mr. Reeves asked if I’d like to attend his party on the beach, where Pride, the aforementioned officials and other guests would be attending. I had the most fun getting to know the group from Pride and what the organization was all about. Enjoyed meeting and speaking some politics with the prominent officials and they seemed very interested in what my continued plans are for the Blues anthem! Then the “icing on the cake” was, of course, watching our boys in Blue take to the sky on Friday’s practice. It was spectacular!!!
HUGE thanks to Mr. Reeves and all the folks at the Rotary Club for your wonderful hospitality.
